Mount Leinster serves the south east of Ireland from its site in Co. Carlow. RTE One is on VHF channel F, RTÉ Two is on VHF channel i, TV3 is on UHF channel 26 and TG4 is on UHF channel 23.

The coverage map above was provided by Northern Correspondent of the ICDG Board and shows Mount Leinster's UHF (TV3 & TG4 only) coverage.

Unlike Kippure, Three Rock and Clermont Carn, its sister transmitters on the East Coast, Mt. Leinster's VHF transmissions are shielded towards Britain to minimise interference with UK Band III mobile radio.

RTE have recently drawn controversy over a new fence they have erected around the transmission site, a move that has drawn criticism from walker's groups.

Mount Leinster was one of the five original 625 line Telefís Éireann transmitters, and opened at low power in December 1962 and higher power in April 1963.
