Mount Leinster serves the south east of Ireland from its site in Co. Carlow. RTE One is on Channel F, Network 2 is on Channel i, TV3 is on channel 26 and TG4 is on Channel 23.

Unlike Kippure, Three Rock and Clermont Carn, its sister transmitters on the East Coast, Mt. Leinster is shielded towards Britain to minimise interference with UK Band III mobile radio.

RTE have recently drawn controversy over a new fence they have erected around the transmission site, a move that has drawn criticism from walker's groups.

Mount Leinster was one of the five original 625 line Telefís Éireann transmitters, and opened in early 1963.
